Occupational Therapy (OT) assists individuals across the life span to participate in daily life.
Occupational Therapy is an evidence-based practice, which means it is backed by scientific research. Although it may sound like it is focused on jobs or occupations, OT goes far beyond that.
Occupational Therapy works to improve independence skills, functional living skills, Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and so much more.
Occupational Therapy is individualized to each patient, and evaluations and assessments are conducted to best determine the treatment plan and course of action most appropriate and beneficial for each patient.
At Shaping Change, LLC., we work closely with each patient to combine the science behind OT and their unique, individual needs.
Our Occupational Therapist will assess for areas of strength and deficit to balance treatment and meet individualized treatment plan goals.
Occupational Therapy is a key component in helping individuals participate in everyday life.
From fine motor skills, like shoe-tying to gross motor skills, like jumping, OT can address it all to ensure individuals are able to integrate in the community and with peers.
Sessions are conducted in a one-on-one format, and can be scheduled in our clinic or via Telehealth.
Depending on each individual’s needs, equipment may be needed and further benefit progress. In these cases, our Occupational Therapist may recommend in-clinic sessions.
Occupational Therapy can be beneficial for targeting multiple areas, including but not limited to:
We continue to provide services in-person in our clinic during this time.
We have COVID-19 safety protocols and measures in place to increase the health and well-being of our staff and patients. We are also offering OT services through Telehealth.
